Gladys Kudzaishe Hlatywayo – Secretary for International Relations for MDC Alliance.

She is a 2014-2015 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow (Public Policy Analysis) at University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, a 2007 Transitional Justice Fellow of the International Center for Transitional Justice and the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation and a 2016/17 British Chevening Scholar.

She holds MSc In Public Management and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom), MSc. Development Studies from National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe) and a BA from University of Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe).

Gladys has 15 years experience in Zimbabwe’s democracy movement. She began her activism as a student leader at University of Zimbabwe. She joined Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, a local democracy coalition from 2006 to 2009 serving in various capacities before joining Casals and Associates – a donor organisation as a Program Development Officer between 2010 and 2011 where she worked with democracy actors to advance democratic reforms during the inclusive government era. She was the Director of Zimbabwe Civic Education Trust from 2012 to 2017.

In the party, Gladys has previously served as the Secretary for International Affairs for the Youth Assembly, Member of the Information Committee and National Executive Member.
