Luke Tamborinyoka is an award winning journalist who became Political Editor of The Daily News before rising to become the Chief News Editor of the same paper. A renowned trade unionist who was elected Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists in 2002 and sat in the ZCTU general council.

Tamborinyoka joined the MDC where he doubled as the Presidential Spokesperson and the party’s Director of Communications.  He served in the inclusive government as Spokesperson to Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, the late icon of Zimbabwe’s democratic struggle.

He is a trained multiple award winning journalist who acquired a qualification in Political Communication in Sweden.

Tamborinyoka was awarded the Book Prize for Best Student when he graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Political Science at the University of Zimbabwe. Is in his final year towards acquiring a Master of Science degree in International Relations at the University of Zimbabwe.
